Mary Bruce Biography
Mary Bruce is the chief White House correspondent of ABC News having been promoted in April 2023 replacing Cecilia Vega who assumed the position in January 2021 until she quit ABC News to join 60 Minutes on CBS as a correspondent. Prior to being promoted to chief White House correspondent, Mary served as the senior White House correspondent for the network.
Mary has been a reporter for almost 20 years and a member of the ABC team for 17 years. During the 2020 election, she was ABC News’ lead campaign correspondent and reported from all major events, including the conventions, the presidential and vice presidential debates and throughout the primaries.
She also lead the coverage of President Trump’s first impeachment inquiry and trial for more than four months. Her reporting on Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court earned her the 2018 Joan S. Barone Award.
