Hunt has conducted interviews with current and former presidents, as well as Oprah Winfrey and another military, political, and corporate figures. In 1987, she moved to San Diego to work as an anchor for ABC affiliate KGTV. Hunt and Carol LeBeau co-anchored the evening newscasts for 15 years, making them the longest-running female anchor combination in the United States.
Additionally, Hunt became a member of the KUSI News staff in October of 2002. She hosted the weeknight newscasts at 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. for five years. Hunt was also the host of the San Diego People weekend show. Hunt returned to 10News in January 2008.
She is the managing editor and chief & lead anchor for KGTV’s 4 p.m. 6 pm, 7 pm, and 11 pm newscast with Steve Atkinson.

During the Persian Gulf War, she won a Golden Mic Award for a broadcast called Postcards From Home, which used videotaped messages to connect local Marines with their families.
