She previously worked at WFAN-AM New York as a news editor and entertainment reporter for “Imus in the Morning”. The show was also simulcast nationally on MSNBC. Janice was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005. This was after she had come off the most active hurricane season in history. It was the year of hurricanes: Dennis, Emily, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. At the time she was working long hours and feeling overwhelming tired, stressed and depressed. She took some time off to go on vacation but one day she woke up to numbness in her feet and parts of her legs.

She had lesions on both her brain and spine. The spinal tap fluid also show the protein they look for in MS patients. She says that since her first diagnosis she has tried to remind herself to be appreciative of the body that has supported her.

Dean has talked about her weight and how she has been bullied because of it. In her book ‘Mostly Sunny’ she said her weight issues began at an early age and was teased and bullied.

“I’ve had weight issues starting from a very young age. I’ve been every size from a 12 to a size four, and I’ve been teased and shamed from the age of 8 to 48. From a kid in school who used to spit at me on the school bus to a very mean, well-known radio host calling me fat and stupid on and off the air.”

She also revealed about a Facebook user who commented about her legs calling them ‘distracting’.

“Dear Janice please stop allowing fox to dress you in those short skirts. They are not flattering on you. Your an attractive lady, love the 80’s hair, but your legs are distracting every time you walk on screen.”

Janice Dean Cuomo

Janice was one of the vocal critics of governor Andrew Cuomo and even blamed him of her inlaws coronavirus deaths, after she says they contracted COVID-19 in a nursing home following the reported manipulation of state data.

She celebrated Cuomo’s resignation. While appearing on Fox News after Cuomo concluded his speech she said; “Today’s a good day but I will say this I want justice. I don’t want this to be the end of the chapter. I want investigations to continue. I want justice for those brave women that came forward and I want justice for those who have no voice, who are in a grave right now because of his mandate.”

She suggested that Cuomo’s scandal relative to nursing homes and coronavirus has “gotten caught up in the ‘Me Too’ stuff.”

“It’s an abuse of power. That’s what this guy has been leaving with in the last two terms, the abuse of power. It’s over today. Do not forget that he has investigations, some could turn criminal. His corruption runs deep.”
