Elise Finch Biography
Elise Finch was a multi-award winning WCBS meteorologist for 16 years. She joined the team as the weekend meteorologist in 2007 and she recently, September, joined Cindy Hsu on the 9 a.m. newscast. She died on July 17, 2023. The cause of her death has not been determined yet.
Prior to joining WCBS, she worked at NBC where she served as a meteorologist for the “Early Today Show,” MSNBC and NBC Weather Plus. She also worked at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona as the weekend weather anchor. She had previously served as an anchor and reporter at the CBS and FOX affiliates in Youngstown, Ohio, and the ABC affiliate in Austin, Minnesota. She began her career in Tv as a production coordinator for special projects and live events for E! Entertainment Television.
She graduated from from Mount Vernon High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, where she received the prestigious President’s Award. She also held a Master of Science degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University.

Elise died on July 16, 2023 at the age of 51 at a local hospital. His death was announced on Sunday evening by New York affiliate CBS station WCBS after they released a statement which read in parts: “It is with profound sadness that we share news of the passing of our beloved Elise Dione Finch Henriques.

The news was confirmed on air by WCBS anchor Jessica Moore who later tweeted: “Elise was fiercely loyal to those she loved, a straight shooter, a consummate professional, and made me laugh until I cried. But above all she was completely devoted to her family, especially her daughter Grace. I love you so much, my friend. Heaven now has an angel like no other. 💔”
