Demaryius Antwon Thomas was an American professional football player who played wide receiver in the National Football League for 10 seasons and helped lead the Broncos to victory in the Super Bowl in 2016. He retired in June. He died on December 9, 2021.

Demaryius was a wide receiver in the National Football League for ten seasons, primarily with the Denver Broncos. He last played in the NFL in 2019, appearing in 11 games with 10 starts for the New York Jets. He was selected among the Top 100 N.F.L. players four times and was the Broncos’ second-leading receiver. He was traded to the Houston Texans during the 2018 season and later moved to the New York Jets before ending his career. By then, he had caught 724 passes for 9,763 yards and 63 touchdowns.
He was a standout receiver with the Broncos over a 10-year NFL career that finished with brief stints with the Houston Texans and New York Jets. He won a Super Bowl with the Broncos and earned four Pro Bowls in a Broncos uniform. in 2015.

Demaryius Thomas Car Accident
Thomas was involved in a car accident on February 16, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. He was travelling over 70mph in a 30mph zone with two people inside when he lost control and rolled his car. According to police report, at the time of the crash Thomas caused the car to flip over and roll on to a grassy median. Thomas and another male passenger escaped with minor injuries. The female passenger, however, suffered “serious bodily injuries”.
On February 28, 2019, he was arrested and charged with vehicular assault. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of careless driving resulting in injury and was handed one year probation.

Thomas suffered from seizures for over a year, according to his cousin LaTonya Bonseigneur. He is believed to have died from these seizures.
“He was alone and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower. We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him (Wednesday).”
