Delaney Evans Sailor

Delaney began sailing while in high school at a local community center. While at the university, she joined the UC Berkeley Sailing Team. Her first yatching job was working as a sailing instructor at a well known yacht club in San Francisco – which led to her first big break to go abroad and crew on an 88 ft. Gaff rigged schooner, a training ship which taught her a lot about yacht life and navigation.

She was inspired to continue sailing professionally which saw her spend her next couple of summers working as a fiotilla skipper in the Mediterranean. Every break from college, she continued to do charters, winters in the Caribbean and summers in Croatia and Greece while sailing during the school year on any boat she could get on outside of team practice.

After graduating from UC, Berkeley she broadened her reach to motor yachts, this was after she spent a few months applying to work on deck on sailing yachts. She was hired or “daywork” on a motor yacht in Florida but after three days the yacht hired her full time as a deckhand.

She later moved to into larger super yachts taking roles as a deckhand and delivery crew until she earned the ability to contribute as mate on a mid-sized vessel. She currently runs fishing day charters out of Hawaii and is working towards her 200-ton captain’s license.

Delaney Evans Below Deck Mediterranean

Delaney is a cast member of stew on Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean season 6. Despite being able to operate vessels approved to carry seven or more passengers she noted that her role on the show was “doing laundry”. In a confessional, she joked about her position on the boat saying “Went to Berkley, got my captain’s license. Now I’m doing laundry. Whatever!”
