Colleen has been working for NBC4 since 1986, during her tenure she has been seen during the trial of the century, covering the O. J. Simpson case for both NBC4 and MSNBC where she anchored everyday reporting on the trial. As a result in 1995 after the case, she took the anchor reins for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m gathering Southern California’s powerful and most trusted news team in the market as of today together with Sports Anchor Fred Roggin and Co-Anchor Chuck Henry.
Colleen has been able to cover numerous stories including earthquakes, the two Pope visits, the many infamous car chases that make Southern California special, terrorist attacks and the Los Angeles riots.
Before joining NBC4, she began her broadcast career at WOW radio in Omaha, afterward, Colleen started working for NBC affiliate station, WOWT, located in Omaha as well. In addition, she moved to Los Angeles and San Francisco anchoring the newscasts.
Through her illustrious career, she server together with a couple of news greats including Lester Holt, Jess Marlow and Tom Brokaw. In conclusion, Colleen’s first live shot was with Walter Conkriteand Dan Rather in Omaha.
For more than three decades as an award-winning journalist, she has received various industry honors, including Emmy Awards and multiple Golden Mike. She was identified with an L.A. Emmy and Golden Mike for her work on NBC4’s special ‘LA Riots: Rubble to Rebirth’ and a Golden Mike for team coverage of the Chatsworth train crash. Additionally, she as well earned Golden Mike and Associated Press Award she covered the Atlanta Summer Games Centennial Park bombing for ‘Best Live Coverage of a News Story.’ Colleen was also honored by the Radio & Television News Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
