Charlotte is a mom to two boys, Giovanni and Benicio. Her firstborn son Giovanni was diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder—Not Otherwise Specified, an autism spectrum disorder. He began having seizures as soon as he was born. He had a brain surgery and continued to have as many as 80 seizures a day.

In June 2012 Charlotte founded a nonprofit organization in honor of her older son. The organization provides families with up to 16 hours of therapy/respite care a month free of charge, plus helps connect parents to other critical resources in the area.

The nonprofit was inspired by their son who at 2 months old starting showing signs of a rare form of childhood epilepsy called Lennox Gastaut Syndrome. He needs care around the clock and was also diagnosed on the autism spectrum and can’t communicate with words.

Together with her husband, they found they were only qualified or public respite care only one hour a day, five days a week. She founded the organization for parents of special-needs children.

She began her career as an intern at Entertainment Tonight. She later joined KTTC-TV as a reporter. In 1996 she joined WDJT-TV as an anchor and reporter. She joined WBRE in 2000 as an anchor until 2003.

She has also worked as a marketing specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs.
