Fleming currently serves as the chief political correspondent for BBC News. He also worked on CBBC’s news program Newsround in 2002 whilst still studying and later became a live reporter for BBC News 24 in 2006, a Westminster reporter in 2008, and a BBC Three 60 Seconds presenter.
He has covered breaking stories including reporting live in Downing Street on the day Gordon Brown became Prime Minister. He also visited refugee camps on the Sudanese border and interviewed computer games’ designers in Tokyo. He also reported on the US Presidential election and traveled across the States for ten days, then joined the crowds partying outside the White House on November 4th. He also presented live when Barack Obama was sworn in.
He also served as BBC News’ Brussels correspondent and acted as a regular reporter on Daily Politics and its successor Politics Live. He focused on EU politics and particularly Brexit, establishing the podcast Brexitcast with political correspondent Chris Mason, political editor Laura Kuenssberg and Europe editor Katya Adler. He began presenting Newscast after Brexitcast came to an end, and was replaced as Brussels correspondent by Nick Beake in summer 2020.
Prior to joining BBC, Adam previously worked for the Herald newspaper in Glasgow, the Daily Record, and STV.
