Rico is an experienced restorer as he has experienced all aspects of the restoration process from being on the front lines sewage removal in basements to managing crews on 7 figure commercial restoration projects. He leverages countless years of experience in the restoration industry to provide restoration expertise to property owners throughout the Front Range of Colorado, prioritizing industry proficiency, customer service and quality of work throughout the restoration process.
His restoration background hails since he was young as he worked for Roto-Rooter; when they started an emergency water restoration division to address issues with water damage, sewage, and mold. He was there since day one and was responsible for the oversight and selection of restoration contractors for the city of Denver, administering project management for hundreds of jobs with dozens of contractors personally reporting to him on a daily basis.

Rico is the host of HGTV’s ‘Rico to the Rescue’ alongside chief estimator Matt Plowman and designer Poonam Moore. The show is a a home renovation series where he helps Denver homeowners salvage renovations that have gone off the rails because of dodgy contractors. In the show, he helps mediate between the contractor and the homeowner. They meet with lawyers, show the homeowner how to break contracts and how to solve issues without going legal.
The show came about when in 2021, Leon sat down with a television production company and shared his expertise. The company had been contemplating a show about real estate, but after hearing León’s tales of navigating contracts, insurance companies, and lawyers to fix sticky construction situations, it decided to change course. Before long, Leon and his team shot the pilot which led to a full first season, which premiered in January 2023.
