Rece Davis Biography

Rece Davis is an ESPN/ABC sports television journalist in the United States.  He has been ESPN’s principal host for international soccer games since 2021. Davis is a SportsCenter anchor. He is also the host of a number of other shows on the network, including the College GameDay football roadshow and the Basketball Show.

He hosts the NBA Draft on ESPN for more than a decade and anchors coverage from the annual State Farm Champions Classic and NCAA Men’s Final Four. College GameDay, college football’s longest-running and most-celebrated pregame show. He won a Sports Emmy for outstanding weekly studio show in each of his first three seasons.

Additionally, Davis worked for WRBL in Columbus, Georgia, in various capacities until 1993. Davis began his career at WRBL as a sports reporter, then as the primary weekend news presenter, and finally as the station’s sports director. Davis began his career as a sports anchor and reporter at WJRT-TV. This position rapidly drew ESPN’s attention. Rece is the host of ESPN’s Emmy Award-winning College GameDay Built by The Home Depot. He has hosted for more than 25 years and has been a presence on ESPN for more than 25 years.

Along with that, in 2018 and 2019, he was also nominated for Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Host. The College Football Playoff: Top 25 Rankings Show, hosted by Davis, was also named Outstanding Live Non-Game Production by Sports Video Group. He previously hosted ESPN’s Saturday college football pregame, halftime, and postgame studio coverage.

Moreover, until 2014, Davis co-hosted the ESPN College Football Primetime game alongside Jesse Palmer, David Pollack, and Samantha Ponder on Thursday nights. Davis has received numerous awards, including the CoSIDA Lester Jordan Award (2019) and Jake Wade Award (2016) for his contributions to intercollegiate athletics, as well as Best Sports Host (2019).
