Who is Judge Tanya Chutkan Husband?

Tanya Sue Chutkan is the judge assigned to oversee Trump’s January 6, 2021 Capitol attack case in D.C. Trump is indicted on charges of attempting to subvert the results of the 2020 presidential election. Chutkan was one of the first federal judges in D.C. to reject the former president’s efforts to use executive privilege to withhold White House communications from Jan. 6 investigators, in that instance from the House select committee investigating the Capitol riot.

Tanya is a former public defender who was appointed by then President Barrack Obama as a public defender in 2014, after she served as a volunteer with Lawyers for Obama during his 2012 campaign. She began her career working for with two Washington firms and joined the D.C. Public Defender Service where she served for 11 years. She then joined Boies Schiller Flexner law firm, where she made partner and specialized in white-collar defense focusing on on complex antitrust class-action cases.

Peter Krauthamer Biography

Peter Krauthamer is a former associate judge of Superior Court of the District of Columbia with a background in criminal justice. Most of his career, he spent being a public defender at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS).

He began his career in 1983 as a a staff attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS) where he handled juvenile delinquency cases, adult misdemeanors and tried numerous felony cases, including serious and complex felony one cases. During his tenure, he served in different positions including Deputy Chief of the Trial Division in 1988, Trial Chief in 1990, and Training Director in 1992.

In 1994, he joined the Federal Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia where he served for a year before joining the Howard University School of Law Faculty as an Assistant Professor where he taught Evidence and also served as a Clinical Supervising Attorney for the Criminal Justice Clinic from 1995 to 2000.

He served as s Deputy Director for the District of Columbia Pretrial Services Agency until 2004 when he rejoined PDS as its Deputy Director until his judicial appointment to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia as an associate judge where he served in the Civil Division from January 2012 until January 2013. He retired on June 30, 2023.

Krauthamer is a retired superior Court judge of the District of Columbia. He was nominated by former President Barrack Obama in July, 2011 and was sworn in April 2012. Prior to becoming a judge, he was a Public Defender, having joined in 1983 as a staff attorney, then a deputy chief and in 1990 he was named as chief of the trial division, Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

He rose ranks to training director in 1992 a position he held for one year before becoming a federal public defender in 1994. He left the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia in 1995 to become an Assistant Professor at Howard University Law School for five years. He then left to join the District of Columbia Pretrial Service Agency and finally returned to PDS in 2004.
