The couple broke up in December 2013 after Nancy allegedly found Patrick on a dating app. Patrick however said he was not active on the app since before the two became an item and that he recently deleted an old profile that was still popping up.

While the couple was together, Nancy allegedly frequently talked about her sex life in front of junior staffers in her Capitol office.

After the split, the former couple became embroiled in a messy legal dispute over a pair of multi-million dollar homes they purchased together.

Patrick has previously been married and has two grown sons Pate and Jack.

Nancy Mace Accused Patrick Bryant alongside three other men of Rape and Sexual Predation

On February 10, 2025, while appearing on the House floor, Nancy Mace accused four men who she called business partners including her ex-fiance Patrick Bryant of having drugged and raped her and other women, and of filming and taking lewd photographs of women and underage girls without their consent.

She alleged that in 2023, while she still engaged to Patrick, she found videos and images on his cell phone and a small hidden camera of women and underage girls in compromising positions. At least one woman she alleges was being raped while incapacitated and were unaware were being recorded or photographed. She claimed she zoomed in one of the videos and discovered she was one of the women who had been filmed nude, without her consent. She said she was able to identify almost a dozen victims.

“I turned up the volume to hear if there was audio. I heard my voice. I zoomed in on the video. And that woman was me. My entire body was paralyzed, and I couldn’t move. Were my feet on the floor? Was I breathing? I have no idea.”

In the speech Mace even shares how she was served two vodka sodas at the property owned by two of the men she named in the speech. She then blacked out, which she said had never happened before after having a vodka soda. “Did anyone film me when I was incapacitated and being raped? Will I ever,” Mace said in her speech where she appeared to hold back tears.

She alleged authorities didn’t charge the accused and victimized her

In addition, she said she turned over 10,633 images which she discovered to the authorities but accused them of not acting on the evidence she provided and accused the state of not accepting additional evidence.

“When the attorney of a victim asked to speak to Attorney General Alan Wilson directly, he told the attorney not to send him any information or documents. Did the state accept the additional, potential physical and other evidence from me when I stumbled across potentially additional information later last year? No they did not.”

She added that she was told she would be investigated despite being the victim and that she would be arrested calling it “an intimidation tactic” to scare victims from coming forward and further treating victims like criminals.

She also called out out South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson calling him a “do-nothing attorney general” and accused of treating women who came forward like criminals.

“Did South Carolina’s attorney general have any of these predators indicted after being provided clear cut and dry evidence including video, photos and witnesses? No he has not.”

On the floor of the House, Ms. Mace was protected by the speech and debate clause, which provides lawmakers immunity from criminal prosecutions or civil suits, such as for slander, when they are acting “within the legislative sphere.”

The South Carolina AG office Denied the claims of knowledge of the accusation

The South Carolina AG office released a statement saying that Mace’s statement regarding the AG are false and that the office “has not received any reports or requests for assistance from any law enforcement or prosecution agencies regarding these matters. Additionally, the Attorney General and members of his office have had no role and no knowledge of these allegations until her public statements.”

They also added that Mace has a personal cellphone number of the AG and had not reached out to him directly regarding the same.

“Congresswoman Mace and the Attorney General have been at multiple events together over the last six months. She also has the Attorney General’s personal cellphone number. Not once has she approached or reached out to him regarding any of her concerns.”

They also added that “Regarding her claim that the Attorney General refused to receive evidence of a crime from a victim’s attorney, it is important to clarify that the Attorney General is the chief prosecutor. For this reason, the Attorney General would always direct any citizen to provide evidence of a crime to the appropriate law enforcement agency, which would be responsible for the investigation.”

Patrick Denied the Allegations

Patrick in a statement denied the allegations and said he will cooperate fuly to clear his name. “I categorically deny these allegations. I take this matter seriously and will cooperate fully with any necessary legal processes to clear my name.”

SLED Confirmed that an investigation was ongoing involving Patrick

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said they have an active investigation into accusations of assault, voyeurism and harassment involving Patrick which was opened on Dec. 14, 2023.

“SLED opened an investigation regarding allegations of assault, harassment, and voyeurism on Dec. 14, 2023, after being contacted by the United States Capitol Police.  Since that date, SLED has conducted multiple interviews, served multiple search warrants and has a well-documented case file that will be available for release upon the conclusion of the case. This active and ongoing investigation is complex and has involved multiple lawyers. Once the investigation is completed, it will be sent to a prosecutor for review.”
