Travis died of suicide after suffering from depression. After his death, Prichard said she didn’t know Travis was suffering until he died and read his journals that’s when she realised he had been suffering for two years.
She revealed that after his death she went through his phone and noticed a call to a toll-free number. It was a national suicide hotline and he had talked for 14 minutes. The call was placed the day before he died.
“He came home from work that night and didn’t say a word to me. He didn’t say, ‘I’m struggling. I need your help. I’m having a really hard time.’ He didn’t say anything, nothing.”
She added that if he talked to her she could have found him help as she was in a position to help him. “I’m in a position to help him. I would have gotten him help. I would have taken him to the hospital. I would have had him admitted. I play those scenarios in my head a lot. He loved his children so much. I can’t imagine what he could have been going through that he would actively leave them.”

Prichard is a morning news anchor for KSL 5 News. She joined the station in 2007. She also served as an investigative reporter as well as a general assignment reporter. Her stories as an investigative journalist led to four separate changes in Utah law.
In 2010 she won the Don Barker Investigative Reporting Award while in 2011 she was voted as the Best TV News Reporter by the Utah Society of Professional Journalists.
Prior to joining KSL 5 she worked as an anchor and reporter for four years at KJRH, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
