Lindsey Boylan Manhattan Borough President

Lindsey is running for Manhattan Borough President 2021 to create a more equitable, sustainable, and livable city that leaves no New Yorker behind. She has spent almost a decade in urban planning and management, including the oversight of Bryant Park, Herald and Greeley Squares, and pedestrianizing major segments of Broadway Boulevard and several other public spaces in Manhattan.

Lindsey Boylan Andrew Cuomo

Lindsey served as deputy secretary for economic development and special advisor to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. On December 13, 2020 through her Twitter she claimed that Cuomo had sexually harassed” her for her “looks” — but refused to share any more information.

“Yes, @NYGovCuomo sexually harassed me for years. Many saw it, and watched.

I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years.”

She added that what upset her most was knowing no one would do a thing. “Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it. No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman.

I’m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently. I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.”

Lindsey Boylan Workplace Misconduct

According to the NY Post Boylan resigned from her state job due to scrutiny of her own conduct in the workplace — including allegations of harassment. According to an internal memo from September of that year, three black employees went to state human resources officials accusing Boylan, who is white, of being a “bully” who “treats them like children.”

She allegedly voluntarily resigned after she was confronted with that and other workplace misconduct allegations — including that she let her travel expenses pile up to the tune of $8,000 before reconciliation, and told a subordinate she’d accept her resignation without consulting human resources — in a subsequent sit-down with state honchos.

She however requested for her job back days later but she ultimately moved on.
