Kelly McCoy, a Midday host, and Assistant Program Director at WSKZ KZ-106 in Chattanooga is being reported to have passed away on Tuesday, March 22 at the age of 58.
Kelly McCoy Career
Kelly began her career at Chattanooga’s first radio station WZRA and moved to WGOW-AM as a Programming Secretary and later as the host of the Top 40 music. After her career at the latter, Kelly moved on to Classic Rock WFXS and finally to KZ-106 where she became the Chattanooga locality #1.
When she was not on radion in the mikes, McCoy would spend her energy as an Animal Rights activist in her community. She has a Pet Project that has been credited with finding homes for hundreds of dogs through the not-for-profit society. Humane Educational.
Kelly McCoy Death & Cause
As earlier mentioned, Kelly McCoy passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd at the age of 58. The Operations Manager of Cumulus Chattanooga Scott Chase confirmed her death in a heartfelt tribute. Scott said that McCoy was a so much loved radio personality and colleague. “we mourn her loss and send our deepest condolences to her family. Kelly set the standard for music radio hosts in Chattanooga. She will be greatly missed.”
Scott Chase did not reveal the cause of death of the radio sensational but he did mention that he had a short and brief illness. “. Kelly has poured her heart and soul into the radio ranch for well over 30 years.” We’ll pay tribute to Kelly today at 10 am on KZ106.
Chip Chapman in a tribute confirmed McCoy’s death writing that she was one of the best ever to ever crack a microphone anywhere in the US. “She was a longtime friend and one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. Nobody is feeling this terrible loss more than my Friend Scott Chase. Rest well, Kelly … you’ve earned it.”
The family says that the final Funeral arrangements ars pending but you can make a Memorial contribution in Kelly’s name to the Humane Educational Society.
