In September 2020 she revealed that Sophie underwent surgery to remove tumor in her ear canal and mastoid, called cholesteatoma, that was aggressive and rapidly growing. The surgeon had to rebuild her ear drum and remove the cholesteatoma tumor that had dissolved the hearing bones and then they had to remove the ear canal wall.

She soon began outselling many of the agents in her office and soon together with her husband they started their own team in 2015. Her team was consistently the top one or two teams in an office of over 500 agents.
